7th Best Small City

As you may already know, Holly Springs was named 7th Best Small City by the website Wallethub.com.  These various most, best and worst rankings are tabulated in different ways.   This particular survey involves five different attributes: affordability, economic health, education and health, quality of life and safety.

Holly Springs ranked pretty high in affordability, economic health and safety.    For affordability, we apparently fare well in terms of median household income, home ownership rate and cost of living.   Economic health includes unemployment rate, income growth, population growth and the percentage of residents who live below the poverty line.  Safety considers violent and property crime rates.  In other surveys we have been rated and recognized as one of the safest places around.

In the education and health category we did ok.  This equally considers school quality (from another Wallethub survey), high school graduation rate, residents with at least a high school graduation, various health ratings including adult obesity, inactivity, premature death rate as well as health insurance coverage rate.   Holly Springs High School was recently recognized as having a high graduation rate, which certainly helped with this category.

The town did not fare as well with quality of life, however did not impact its overall rating much at all.  This category equally considers commute time and hours worked per week as well as the number of retail or entertainment outlets in the area, including bars, restaurants, coffee shops, department stores and fitness centers. Again, commute time was weighted equally amongst ten other measures such as the number of coffee shops or bars per capita!

Overall, this sort of recognition will gain relocation interest in the residential and commercial markets.   When a place like Holly Springs performs well against other cities and towns in these comparisons,  others will want to enjoy in this success.  In addition, towns like Fuquay Varina, Apex and Angier will also see a rise in interest since they are in close proximity.
