The North Main Athletic Complex CAN work

But the town cannot do it alone. It certainly can go about it alone, but quicker and continued success will require some teamwork. This proposed complex includes a baseball stadium which could be host to a Coastal Plain League team. The CPL is a short season summer baseball league comprised of high performing college players. The closest team to Holly Springs is in Wilson. The CPL headquarters is actually in Holly Springs. The complex also includes two artificial turf soccer fields, tennis courts, a Miracle League baseball field and a gym. The CPL will have to partner with the town in order for this to work. I have no doubt they will want to be part of this, afterall, they addressed the council about such a complex at the council retreat. The other component will be the assistance, participation and cooperation of a local business /economic development group familiar with sports tourism. This complex calls for a retail/office component therefore Holly Springs will have to be promoted as a good place to site a business. It will also have to be promoted as a baseball hub as well as a place to have your athletic event. Corporate sponsorships will have to be a big part of this complex. This has the potential to provide a good return on investment if we get cooperation from other organizations.
